An Anglophile HQ Thanksgiving

Hey everyone, this is Patrick Hartnett wishing all you anglophiles out there a happy Thanksgiving and I will start writing again after the big eating holiday.  I know the British do not celebrate it, I am just wishing all you anglophiles out there a happy Thanksgiving.

How I became an Anglophile

This is a post about how I became an anglophile and I think I should start with my childhood.  I was just a kid when I became hooked on the Benny Hill Show and it was pretty much all downhill from there.  When I was at the beach in Maryland in 2008, I was watching Vision On on my Dad's work laptop because I decided not to go on the beach that day, and when I called my Mom (who was on the beach at the time) and told her what I was doing, she called me an anglophile and I have been one ever since then.  I hope that explains everything well enough.

My Review of BBC World News in the USA

This is my review of BBC World News in the USA.  I like the channel overall because it has very little commercials and is very British.  The news is current and is very informative.  I love the channel overall and it get the Anglophile HQ full marks, so it gets 100 out of 100.

My Favourite British Shop in the USA

My favourite British shop in the USA is Best of British in Hampton, Virginia, which I go to every time I visit my Mom's friend, who is close to the store that I love so much.  Best of British has every food and gifts item an anglophile could want, but they do not have DVDs or CD's.   If I could rate Best of British, I would give it a 100 out of 100 because it has something new every time I go there. If you want to visit them online, you can at www.bestofbritishonline.com, their official website.

My Top Ten British Comedies

Here are my top ten British Comedies:

#10:  My Hero (the reason why this is #10 on my list is because I could not think of a better britcom to start the list)

#9: Little Britain (UK Version, not the USA version)  (the UK version was way better than the USA version)

#8: The Benny Hill Show (The reason is because it was on ITV and the BBC)

#7: Whose Line is it Anyway? (Great Comedy Game show)

#6: A Bit of Fry and Laurie (Where the actor who plays Doctor Homes [and I know I spelled it wrong, so no comments] got his start)

#5: Comic Relief/Red Nose Day (You can not have a top ten British Comedies list without this)

#4: Outnumbered (a great Hugh Dennis Comedy Show)

#3: The Friday/Sunday Night Project (a great show that was hosted by Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins as well as guest hosts galore)

#2: You've Been Framed (Basically, America's Funniest Home Videos in Britain)

#1: Monty Python's Flying Circus (My favourite British comedy show of all time, as well as Qi, which is a Game Show with a lot of funny bits)
